Environmental Scientist 


It all started with an idea.
Mercy started her Environmental career in 2010 at Disaster Management Unit in Zambia. She later joined Zambia's biggest electricity cooperation ZESCO in 2011 as an Environmental Scientist. Still with ZESCO she was consulted by United Nation for Development Programme as an Environmental Coordinator.
She ascended to become a Senior Environmental Scientist at ZESCO in 2018. 

Mercy hold's an international master of science degree from the University of Western Cape (South Africa) and the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).  

Mercy is the founder of MAKGreen Environmental, Business and Social consultancy.

Her professional experiences focuses on hydro power projects, transmission and distribution power line projects mainly in Zambia. She has worked on a number of inter-connector power projects between Zambia and bordering countries like the Democratic Republic of Congo and Tanzania.

Her key skills include management and coordination of Environmental, Social and Health Impact Assessment conforming to Zambian Environmental laws and International standards (International Finance Corporation / World Bank and Equator Principles) and United Nations treaties and protocols.

Furthermore, her skills extended to Conduction and audit of Environmental Management (EMS) aligned to ISO 14001:2015 , Environmental Audits, preparation of Environmental Guidelines and Manuals, Coordination and Monitoring of Environmental  Programs,
Coordination of data collection and mapping environmental projects in the following fields: soils, Vegetation, Hydrology, Wildlife, Fisheries, Archaeology, Water Quality, Water Well Location and Air Quality, Coordination and establishment of Environmental Information System. 

She has good working knowledge with hydrology model (SWAT), statistical analysis software SPSS and STATA, Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing. 

At  ZESCO Limited she worked and interacted with local and international experts at World Bank, United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Southern African Power Tool (SAPP), South African Development Bank (SADB), Kreditanstalt fuer Wiederaufbau (KfW), World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and Southern Africa Development Community (SADC) this broadened her horizon significantly.

It’s worth noting that her masters 
research won the best young scientist of 2016 award at the 17th WaterNet/WRFSA/GWPSA Symposium in Gaborone, Botswana and has been published under WaterNet.

Andreas D. Kloster M. B. A. 

Business Development Manager


After finishing his bachelor's degree in business administration he worked for in the VION N.V a German-Dutch meat processing company. As a production controller implemented a board of important key performance indicators and could improve the company'y profitibilaty significantly. Later he did his master's degree in business, economics and law with focus on entrepreneurship, management and controlling. He made his first professional contact with the the Sub-Saharan Africa during an exchange student programme with the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania). Andreas has seen lots of opportunities in the African market so that he decided to do further research. His master thesis deals with challenges of doing business in Africa at the example of Zambia. 

After finishing his master's he joined EWE NETZ, one of germany's biggest DSO (distribution system operator). After only a few months with the company Andreas became the process manager and owner of the feed-in management. A crucial process in the energy industry in Germany. He represented and defended the company's interest towards the German government, the regulation authorities, and different associations within the sector. 
Andreas' expert-knowledge in analyzation, optimization and controlling can also enable your company to grow bigger, more cost-efficient and not only environmentally but financially sustainable, too.  

Andreas is a business-minded and customer-oriented person who knows what's needed at that particular time. Andreas is competent to analyze any establishment at large by not forgetting important details.

Milika Chande M. Sc. 

Environmental Consultant 


Milika is a highly experienced environmental professional with over 10 years of expertise in Environmental, Hydrological, and Social Analysis across Zambia and the Southern Africa Development Community (SADC). She has contributed significantly to reducing environmental degradation and shaping national and international policies aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Over the years, she has developed strong leadership and stakeholder management skills through various project roles, consistently delivering effective results.

Milika holds a Master’s degree in Integrated Water Resource Management from the University of Dar Es Salaam and the University of Western Cape. She is an expert in water resources management, watershed and project modeling, hydrogeology, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), permitting, water and sanitation, demand management, GIS, and database management.

Her work includes research on groundwater protection and management in urban aquifers (Ngwerere Catchment, Lusaka), and IWRM planning projects across Tanzania, South Africa, and Kenya. She has presented her research at the WATERNET/WRFSA/GWPSA Symposium on Water Security in Namibia.

Milika has led and contributed to major projects including:

  • Itezhi Tezhi 120MW Hydropower Project (ITPC) – environmental management system development (ISO 14001), stakeholder engagement, grievance mechanisms, emergency response planning, SHEQ compliance, and CDM Green Project recognition.
  • Multiple ZESCO generation, transmission, and distribution projects, including ESIA and EPB for Kafue Gorge Lower Hydropower Project (750MW), Musonda Falls 10MW Rehabilitation, Kapelela 4MW Mini-Hydropower, and several transmission lines.

She has extensive experience in environmental monitoring, water quality, waste management, air/noise control, ecological management, and corporate social responsibility. Milika’s expertise spans strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, team leadership, compliance reporting, and environmental management system implementation.
